You never call me. Is something wrong with your health?”
Nathan’s face turned dark, uninterested in small talk.
“Can’t I call you for something else? I’m perfectly fine!”
He paused and then continued, “If my baby is affected by virus, can you detect it now?”
Aldric asked, “How far along is she?”
Nathan pondered for a moment and replied, “Around six and a half weeks.”
Aldric regretfully informed him, “I can’t determine that yet. The current examination methods involve testing, but the fetus is too small to be tested accurately. We might have to wait until the baby is born to conduct the necessary tests.”
But waiting until the birth might be too late.
Nathan fell silent, contemplating his options. After a long hesitation, he finally gathered the courage to ask, “If… If we decide to terminate the pregnancy, is there a way to do it that will cause no harm to the mother?”
“It’s not possible. Any abortion will cause some level of harm to the mother,” came the disheartening response from Aldric.

“What medicine is that?” Nathan inquired.
“Mifepristone. However, it’s a newly developed drug overseas and is prohibited from being sold domestically. If you want to acquire it, it might be a bit complicated…”
“Alright.”
Nathan ended the call and dialed Sonny’s number.
“When you’re done with your current tasks, I need you to go abroad and buy something for me…”
Sonny listened attentively.
He sensed that something was amiss even though Nathan didn’t disclose the true purpose of the drug. He then decided to search online for information about the drug.
The results left him stunned.
